Accessibility Statement
PW Carpentry wants this website to be usable by as many people as possible, including people who use a screen reader, navigate by keyboard, or need larger text or reduced motion.
What we have done
- The site is built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 at level AA.
- Every page can be operated with a keyboard alone, and the element in focus is always clearly visible.
- A skip to content link is the first thing a keyboard user reaches on every page.
- Text colour contrast meets or exceeds a ratio of 4.5 to 1 against its background.
- Form fields have visible labels, and errors are described in words rather than by colour alone.
- Images carry alternative text, and decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- Headings are used in order, so the page structure makes sense when it is read aloud.
- Animation is reduced automatically when your device asks for reduced motion.
- The cookie banner moves focus to itself when it opens, can be operated by keyboard, and never traps focus.
- The site works at 320 pixels wide and at 200 per cent zoom without loss of content.
