These terms explain how you may use this website, and the basis on which we provide quotations and carry out work. They are written to be read, not to catch anyone out.

Using this website

You may use this website for your own personal or business purposes and to enquire about our services. You may not use it in any way that is unlawful, that attempts to gain unauthorised access to it, or that interferes with its operation or the use of it by others.

The content of this website is provided for general information. We keep it accurate and up to date as far as we reasonably can, but we do not guarantee that it is complete or current, and it is not professional advice for your specific project. Guidance on matters such as planning permission and building regulations is general and should be confirmed with your local authority or an appropriate professional.

Intellectual property

The text, photographs, graphics and design of this website belong to us or to our licensors. You may not reproduce or republish them without our permission.

Quotations

Enquiries made through this website are not orders and do not create a contract. A quotation is an invitation to proceed and is not binding until we have both agreed the scope of works in writing. Unless we say otherwise, a quotation is valid for 30 days.

A quotation is based on the information available to us at the time, including what can be seen at survey. Where work uncovers something that could not reasonably have been foreseen, for example hidden structural damage, rot or unsafe existing wiring or plumbing, we will stop, explain what we have found, and agree any change in scope and price with you in writing before continuing.

Carrying out the work

We will carry out work with reasonable skill and care, in accordance with the agreed specification and applicable building regulations. Programme dates are our honest estimate and can be affected by weather, material availability, third party trades and matters outside our control. We will keep you informed if a date is going to move.

You agree to give us reasonable access to the property, a supply of water and electricity where required, and information you hold that is relevant to the work, such as the location of services.

Payment

Payment terms, including any deposit and staged payments, are set out in the quotation or written agreement for your project. Invoices are due on the terms stated on them.

Your right to cancel

Where you are a consumer and the contract is agreed at your home or elsewhere away from our business premises, you have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of entering into it, under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. If you ask us in writing to begin work during that period, and we do, you may be asked to pay for what has been supplied up to the point you cancel.

Guarantees and your legal rights

Our workmanship guarantee is set out in your quotation or written agreement. Manufactured products, such as units, appliances, boards and fixings, carry their own manufacturer guarantees, which we will pass on to you. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 that services are carried out with reasonable care and skill.

Liability

We do not exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, we are not liable for loss that was not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was made. We hold public liability insurance and will provide details on request.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
